Tuesdays with Tucker...We're Featured in an Etsy Treasury!

What a sweet surprise to hear that Ann-Margaret's SpecialTea Shoppe on Etsy was featured in a beautiful treasury today! We were thrilled to receive an email from Melanie at sweetmellyjane letting us know that she had created a treasury and included our "Definitely Diva Chandelier" belt buckle. Thank you Melanie...what a fun treat to our day! Be sure to check out Melanie's adorable "Mary Jane Baby Slippers"...my mom loves, loves, loves these!! And, I'm pretty sure you know how much my mom LOVES hot PINK and black together so she was tickled PINK when she saw this treasury! Ooh la la...such a sophisticated combo, yet it still has a flirty flair about it. Ok, I admit my mom is assisting me a bit with this blog post. LOL I mean, puh~leaazzze...do you think I really say "ooh la la"??!!! The woman tries to create designs with my picture, using pink crowns, sassy fonts, and such, but this little guy has to draw the line somewhere! I don't say "ooh la la" on my own, just for the record! Now, I do really think it's AWESOME and GROOVY that one of my sweet mom's designs was featured in this treasury! Check it out, and check out all the other beautiful treasures included, too!

Preppy Coordination

Cool colors such as aqua and lime green/yellow make a SPLASH this summer, and a cute water bottle and coordinating note cards are sure to bring out the preppy girl in you! This is one of my favorite designs! These travel water bottles are all the rage...whether you are heading off for a game of tennis, taking a road trip with your sweet guy, or running errands with your kiddos in tow...we all need to stay hydrated in this warm weather! "Preppy Girl" is just one of my many signature designs to choose from when ordering a travel mug, water bottle (Yes, the travel mugs are still available, too!), or note cards. And, remember, almost any design you see on my site may be created on another item. For instance, if you love the "Blissful Bling" design as seen on a belt buckle...well, this design may also be done on a set of note cards, bookmark, travel mug, pendant, etc. You get the idea!!
These note cards are blank inside so they are perfect as a thank you note, friendly "hello", or as a sweet reminder to let someone know you are thinking of them. They also make a great gift, as they can be personalized!
As you can see, one of Tucker's favorite colors is aqua! He loves his aqua bed! Sometimes if I miss him I know to check out this comfy spot...yep, there he is, napping away! He loves to snuggle up with his baby hedgehog and leopard print bone, too!

Tuesdays with Tucker...Thunderstorms make me Crazeeeee!

Oh, yes, they do....thunderstorms make me crazy...bananas...delirious!! And, that's just the beginning! I know I drive my mom all of these things, too, when we're in the midst of a storm because I really feel the need to bark about it. And, when I say BARK...well, I mean bark alot!!! It was a sunshiney day, and of course, you know how the south can be...next thing you know a thunderstorm is rolling in. I've pretty much worn myself out from trying to alert all of the surrounding areas about this storm so I think I am going to need a long, cozy nap. But, before I go, I wanted to show you one of my friends...
Beautiful dragonflies are zipping all around our yard. They love the hostas and all the other flowers. They come so close; some have even landed on my mom's arm! And, I hope we can snap a picture of one of the blue and green ones...so pretty! Do you have lots of dragonflies in your garden this summer?
I am happy to share that my eye specialist said my corneal ulcer has healed. However, we are having to treat the little bubbles that have formed on my cornea from having the ulcer. And, my eye is still so sensitive so I'm still squinting alot...yep, looks like I'm trying to be a pirate!! I still have to wear my alien helmet, too, but I'm hoping I will be free of it maybe next week...at least some of the time. I'm sure hoping all the drops do just what they need to so I will be seeing much better soon! But, for now, here's me in action...love my red ball and have to find it every evening when Poppie comes home! He loves it...I do it just for him!

Riding along the Pacific Coast Highway

I know...you woke up this morning thinking it was just going to be an ordinary Monday, right? Well, think again! We're taking a drive along the Pacific Coast Hwy...I thought it might be fun to start this week off on the right flip flop!! :) Yep, it's summertime, my friends, and we need some adventure, beaches, and wind in our hair! In reality, I'm rather busy today...working on orders, being creative in the studio, and keeping check on my sweet Tucker to name just a few. But, I am really craving some beach time so I thought I'd share some of these pics with you from a trip to California a few years ago. Isn't that what photos are all about...saving the moment so you can relive the memory over and over again?!! Come on...we're heading to Cali, baby!!
John and I had the best time driving along this beautiful scenic route. Wow! It was amazing! If we looked to one side we saw beautiful beaches like this one above, and on the other side were gorgeous homes nestled in the hills. Some of those homes must have the most exquisite views! We stopped many times to savor the scenery and check out the beach from another amazing spot. And, believe me, it was breathtaking to be standing high above the beach and see this beautiful picture stretch for as far as we could see.
Of course, it wouldn't be a trip to California if we didn't get in on a little Hollywood action! This is the place to see all the characters...and, there were quite a few! We had fun going on the Hollywood tour and saw lots of interesting homes, celebrity hangouts, and businesses...Capitol Records and many more!
Although we didn't see Stallone in person...well, we did see his STAR!! It was a great trip, as we saw lots of fun sites, beautiful beaches and scenery, and enjoyed yummy food at some great restaurants. I guess I better get back to reality! Back to work it is, but wasn't it fun to take a little trip and break away from the chaos?!! Keep your flip flops ready because we are going to be doing a bit of traveling here on the blog this summer. So, just in case it's a little while before your vacation, be sure to stop by my blog because it's going to be a fun ride this SUMMER!!

Thank You for the Gift You Have Given...
Memorial Day 2010
Freedom...Life...Protection...How do you truly thank someone for giving such a special gift? Words seem rather inadequate, but I do believe they sometimes mean more than we realize. I can remember when my husband was in the military, and we were eating breakfast in a restaurant one morning. It wasn't Memorial Day...it was just an ordinary day, but I will not ever forget it. Our waitress stopped by our table again and looked at John as she said, "I just wanted to say "thank you" for all you do for our country...for us." That was several years ago, and we still talk about that waitress and the time she took to say a few words...words that meant so much. So, today, I just want to say "THANK YOU" to all of the Veterans, all of our military, and all of their families..."THANK YOU" for helping us to continue to experience FREEDOM...for helping us to feel protected and to feel very blessed for this life we enjoy.
And, may we take time each day to remember these special people in our prayers. Remember that there are wives waiting anxiously for the mailman each day to see if there may be a letter from their husband that is far away from his family (or, checking email many times a day to see if there is a new message..."snail mail" is sweet though even if there are many modern ways of communicating!)...loved ones listening out for the phone in hopes a call can be made...and, children saying sweet prayers for their "hero" as they are tucked in each night by someone else. Cookies are being baked, favorite treats are being packed securely in boxes, and love notes are being written...and, soldiers are feeling a little closer to home when these care packages arrive. This is someone's life...a life they are living so that ours may be protected.
Thank you for all you have done and all that you continue to do; your service is truly appreciated. And, for all those that are serving away from home...I am praying for your safe return to your loved ones and hope the days will pass quickly, as there are many little ones waiting to hug their heroes.
May we all remember to say "Thank you" a little more often.
